This one was really slow-going, since I had a really hard time knitting bulky yarn on big needles. So it took about 2 1/2 months to knit a sweater that I probably could have made in 2 1/2 days a year ago. But still, it’s progress.
I called this one “Just the Facts, Ma’am“, since it’s just a very basic pullover. (Now I have the urge to go watch some old Dragnet shows.)
I used the basic design of a pattern I made before – the Big Cable Pullover. Obviously I omitted the cable.
I used the same yarn that I used in the other sweater I made from the pattern – Sirdar Click Chunky with Wool, which is a bulky acrylic/wool blend. Although I wanted a cozy, bulky, sweatshirt-like sweater, I didn’t really want it to be 100% wool because it would be too hot to wear, and I didn’t want 100% cotton because it would be too heavy. I also wanted something that would be easily washable. This yarn has worked out nicely. My other sweater has been washed quite a bit, and although it has fuzzed and pilled a little, certainly no more than I’d expect from any yarn. It’s lightweight and comfortable enough to wear on its own, and I can layer it over another shirt if I want more warmth.
Looks like a great weekend/casual sweater!
Perfect sweater! The color is great too. 🙂
Cute!! That is the kind of sweater you can live in.
I noticed it when we were together today, but I didn’t realize you’d just knit it! Looks great on you!
It looks so comfortable. The arm will get better. Swears.
Cute! I love it.
Love it! Looks like the perfect sweater to pull on on a Sunday afternoon. You’re so smart to use a blend. I always get hot in the wool ones I’ve knit.
Ah, the sweatshirt sweater, basically. Perfect. 🙂
That’s my favorite kind of sweater: plain, functional, warm, and totally wearable! NICE!
