The baby hat is done! I’m not sure what size baby it will fit, of course. It might work for a newborn if the ribbing is folded up around the bottom. Otherwise, it’s pretty stretchy and will probably work for next winter too.
Pattern: Frog Monkey’s Spiral Rib Hat
Yarn: Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK, color 0007, 1 ball
Needles: US6 DPNs
Comments: My spiral went the opposite way of the one shown in the pattern. I’m not sure whether that was me or the pattern – I started it several times with a different number of stitches, and I probably wasn’t looking at the pattern instructions by the time I got to the last cast-on. I noticed that the spiral was going the other way, but didn’t really think it would matter – but when I got to the decreases at the top, I had to reverse them so that they’d spiral in the same direction as the rest of the hat. (Instead of doing “PSSO, then knit x stitches”, I did “knit x stitches and then K2tog”.)
Anyway, it’s a cute little hat and went pretty quickly. And here it is with the kimono, which finally has buttons!
It’s squeezably soft even in the picture–what a charming set! Lucky baby.
What a lucky baby! I agree with Lark, very squeezable looking!
They make a very fine duo!
Cute! I’m still pondering the spiral… Maybe the pattern was designed for south of the Equator.
Wow, I love that baby set. It’s so pretty. Nice work!
Those are so cute together! Not sure why the spirals went the other way, but it turned out neat.
Awwwwwwwww!
