I haven’t been doing too much other than swatching for the past few days while EPS is blocking. Above are samples of Tahki Donegal Tweed, Classic Elite Skye Tweed, and Rowan Calmer (which is a dark plum color, not that you can tell from the awful photo above taken in a very dark room).
I bought the Donegal Tweed to make the Central Park Hoodie, but then when I got the Skye Tweed, I really thought it would look great in that. But I don’t have as much yardage of it, and I’m afraid I’d be cutting it very, very close. So my latest thought is to go ahead and do the CPH from the Donegal Tweed, and use the Skye Tweed for Scoop du Jour, which I’ve coveted ever since seeing Margene’s.
The Rowan Calmer was intended for Bella Paquita. Marnie had suggested Calmer as a substitute yarn, and I think it would be great for it, but the gauge is quite different – something I didn’t pay attention to notice when I ordered the yarn. So A) I’d have to rework the pattern for a different gauge (knitting it in the Large size might work fairly well), and B) I’d once again be cutting it close with yardage. So I’m not sure what to do on that one. Maybe I’ll just go ahead with it – and it might end up being either short sleeved or a tank.
But while we’re waiting for decisions to be made, here’s a teaser:
Does it debut today?
Can’t wait to see EPS!!!!
How BEAUTIFUL!!!! I can’t wait to see it finished.
Oh I’m jealous, that looks so warm and lovely. Mine is still just a tube top… The Bella is going to look lovely on you.
