To Love the Gloves

Drops Gloves

And as you’re about to leave
She jumps up and says hey love, you forgot your gloves
And the gloves to love to love the gloves…*

And I do love them. This is my first whole pair of full gloves, and they’re a perfect fit. I really like the yarn choice as well – the gloves are warm and comfortable.

Pattern: Drops 102-46Ravelry Link

Yarn: Brown Sheep Nature Spun Worsted, color 701W (I’d call it a dark taupe.)

Needles: 3.5mm / US 4

Modifications:  I wasn’t using the specified yarns, so I needed to adjust for my gauge. To determine the size, I just swatched with the yarn in different sized needles in the round, using the number of stitches for the hand in both the small and large size until I found a combination that fit my hand the way I liked, and which gave a good fabric. The number of stitches for size small was the best for fitting my hand, but since I have rather stubby fingers, I thought the glove fingers were a little too tight. I redid them adding two more stitches per finger (which matched the number of stitches for the large size), and they came out just right.

Wow, those look fantastic. I’ve really been looking for a good glove pattern, and those definitely fit the bill. And better yet, I got my ravelry invite! So I can go peek at the pattern. Great job on the gloves!
