Why did I get excited when I saw the subject line of an email that said “DSW Double Points”? Sadly, the email was about earning double points on my DSW Bonus rewards, not anything about DPNs.
I was trying to write up a formula to calculate the proper sleeve width for an armhole from the notes I took during Sally Melville’s class. I discovered that when I was trying to compute it for the CPH, I mistakenly used stitches-per-inch where I should have used rows-per-inch. According to Sally’s formula, my sleeve should be 2 sizes larger than what is indicated in the pattern. This seems right according to the schematic measurements, though I still don’t quite get why the stitch count doesn’t add up. Maybe it’s just one of those mysteries of life. I’ll just knit the larger sleeves, but then use Sally’s method for the cap shaping instead of the pattern’s, so that the sleeve cap should fit.
