The garage is basically finished (other than what we’ll be doing inside), and the driveway has been poured. We can walk on it now, but have to wait a week before we can drive on it.
I keep finding The Pontiff standing inside the garage, admiring it. And I suppose, contemplating all of his ideas for it.
So it should have been no surprise that he wanted to have a celebratory cocktail in the garage. Due to above-normal temperatures, it’s still perfect gin & tonic weather.
Since I didn’t have much food in the house, I decided to take a quick run over to Papa Murphy’s for a take-and-bake pizza. As usual, I decided to top it with some pine nuts before popping it in the oven. I suspect that there might have been more celebratory cocktails prepared while I was gone. My first clue was that while eating the pizza, I looked into the kitchen and saw this.
DH had cut the pizza and brought it to the table, then had flung the oven mitt back onto the kitchen floor.
My next clue was when when the dinner conversation went something like this:
Him: [After burning his mouth on a hot piece of pizza] Pizza is like cement. You have to let it set up before you eat it.
Him: Pine nuts must be the most understated pizza food.
Me: Would that mean “underrated pizza topping”?
Him: Uhhhh, yes. Something like that.
Him: [After pulling a piece of crust off the tray and popping it in his mouth] I think that was part of the tray.
Sigh.
But I must admit, it was great to go from this:

So I guess he’s entitled to a little celebration.
I truly believe that Larry and Dale would get along quite well.
Hanging with Larry is always an adventure. 😉
Heh-heh-heh. Too funny.
Nice garage! Oh, how I remember the days (do I?) when ours was all fresh and clean like that….
Wow, look at that, drywall and everything. How uptown are you guys! I bet that garage door’s even insulated. Have you got heat as well?
How funny! Your garage looks great!
Yay for new garages and hilarious inebriated conversation! 🙂
Personally, I really like understated foods!
hehehee Sounds like a great celebration! Enjoy the garage!
Hahahaha!
LOL! He got pretty wild while you were gone, eh? The new garage looks great.
Yay! The best part is pushing the little button and having the door go up by itself… Whoohooo!
Snortling at the rest.
Fabulous! Celebrating is definitely in order.
