FO: Forest Canopy Cowl

Matching mittens and cowl. A novel concept, isn’t it? And it even keeps going with my local grrlfriends theme, since the cowl pattern was designed by Susan.

Matching Cowl and Mittens

Forest Canopy Cowl

Pattern: Forest Canopy Cowl, by Susan Lawrence
Ravelry: Pattern page and my Project Page
Yarn: Manos del Uruguay Manos Silk Blend
Needles: 4.5 mm (US 7) and 5.5 mm (US 9)
Modifications: None, but knitted the smaller version as suggested in the pattern (one less pattern repeat)

This is a great pattern – easy lace knitting (I could even knit it at SnB without any errors), quick, and well-written. I really like how she used the larger needles to shape the lower edge. It’s nice and soft and cozy, and of course, is perfect with my mittens.

They are fabulous as a set especially given the designers are all grrlfriends! Very cool way to stay warm.

Gorgeous! That color looks great on you!

They’re perfectly matched! And the perfect warm color to put next to your face when you knit something with that silky wool. 😀

And they look great! I’m jealous of your sunshine. We had a few minutes of sunshine yesterday. Or was that Monday?

It doesn’t surprise me that I love it, because I just made the same size in the same color! 😉

    You and the knitting.

I love it and can’t wait to get to mine! I’m thrilled that I bought an extra skein of the green Manos Silk at the time I did! Little did I know that I would only need one, and then Susan would come along with this! But, oy, I have so much knitting on my plate at the moment!

Matching mittens and cowl is a great idea, but they need a hat…….
