In which a moment of insanity takes off.
It’s all Susan‘s fault. But yes, Margene and I agreed to her crazy plan to knit 12 sweaters in a year (preferably one sweater a month). Now other crazy people are starting to jump in.
So it’s now official. The National Knit a Sweater a Month Dodecathon*, also known as NaKniSweMoDo.
“Sweater” is used loosely. It doesn’t have to be a long-sleeved pullover or cardigan, it can be a sleeveless top or vest. So the basic rules are to complete 12 adult-sized sweaters or tops in 2009. They must be fully completed and ready to wear by December 31, 2009.
We have a button for anyone who wants to join the insanity:
And a Ravelry Group too.
Let’s go knit!
Dodecathon: (“dough-DECK-uh-thon”) From “dodeca-“, meaning twelve sided and “-athon“, meaning an event of unusual length.
Have fun. I will participate by either cheering you on or laughing outright, from the sidelines. π
Woo Hoo!
I’m with Carrie… probably laughing outright more with some cheering mixed in! π If I was a faster knitter I would join in, but alas I’m terribly slow!
Hee hee – you know I’m with Carrie and Lani. π
Indeed, you all are nuts. But it is fun to watch.
I’m glad (I think, but ask me in a coupla months) I’m in.
What are you gonna make first?
Great button… have fun… I’ll be cheering you on.
Yes. Well. Interesting. Heh.
I’m going with the people who call this nuts – and since I’m quite loony, I’m going to try to join in too! π
wow! good luck to all of you. I can barely get it toether to knit one sweater a year, let alone one a month.
You crazy, crazy girls. π I just googled this term, because I saw it a couple of times on Ravelry and had no clue what it was supposed to mean. Now I understand why some people created insane amounts of sweaters. π
