Our cruise was a 5-night trip on Royal Caribbean’s Grandeur of the Seas. This was my first time on a Royal Caribbean ship.
How do you like our luxurious cabin? There’s a big sitting area with a sofa and some chairs in the area to the right of what you see in the photo.
There was a big bathroom with plenty of room for two
And nice balcony (this is only half of it)
But sad to say, this wasn’t my cabin – it was my sister’s suite. And one of the couples in our group had an even bigger suite, which had a big bathtub instead of just a shower. Our room, on the other hand, was quite tiny. In fact, it was probably the smallest cabin I’ve had on a ship. But it was adequate for its purpose.
And the most important thing was that a good time was had by all.
The ship docked in Cozumel and Costa Maya. My husband and I didn’t do any excursions, which worked out pretty well since those two days were a bit rainy anyway. Some of our group did a dolphin encounter in Cozumel and/or a tour of some of the ruins in the area, and they all had fun. In Cozumel, we just stayed on the ship and enjoyed the Solarium. At Costa Maya, we went to the beach resort off the dock, and wandered around a bit, but it was a little too cool to get into the pool, so when it started to rain, we just headed back to the ship.
It was just as well that we didn’t bother with the excursions on the ship, because we ended up doing a lot of fun things in Florida after the cruise.ย But that will have to wait for later.
I’d love to take a cruise, but I’m afraid I’d get seasick. That’s quite the suite! ๐
Fabulous. You don’t go on a cruise to stay in your room, anyway.
Lucky sister! But it does sound like everyone had a good time.
Those big cabins are nice but really, how much time does anyone spend in their room when they are on a cruise?
A shower and a decent bed are all you really need…
Sounds like a great trip and how neat to see the shuttle launch!
Wow! Now thats a cabin! Glad you enjoyed yourself without excusions… I think it’s much less “stressful” that way.
That baby is going to grow up and get even with all of you. You know that, right?
I love the shower scene ๐
Wait, where were the pictures of YOUR wee cabin, so we can feel appropriately sad for you?
That suite is huge!! It looks fab.
