I missed out on having this be my 20th sweater of 2009 by a week.
Darn. But I could have had it done if I hadn’t decided to do a lot of small projects instead. So now it will be the first sweater of 2010.
Pattern: Drops 78-11 Cardigan in Muskat and on Ravelry
Yarn: Garnstudio Drops Merino Extra Fine, Light Brown Mix, 10 balls.
Needles: US 5 / 3.75 mm

Modifications:
The lace portion of the body is size S, but then I increased a bit for the bust, then decreased down to size S for the shoulders. It could still be a bit smaller in the shoulders, as it grew a little bit when I wet-blocked it.
I made the body much longer than indicated in the pattern – 10″ of lace, and 4″ from the lace to the underarm.
For the sleeves, I picked up stitches around the armholes and knit the sleeves downward, knitting 3.5″ of the lace pattern at the cuffs. The pattern has 3.5″ of stockinette at the cuff, with another 3.5″ of lace above that. I didn’t think I’d like the way that looked.

So cute!
Your changes made it a perfect sweater! It looks fabulous. Your knitting is so beautiful.
I like the cuff mods you did – I didn’t like the sound of the pattern’s version either. Looks great!
You definitely did the right thing with the cuffs! Another gorgeous sweater.
Wow – another wonderful project! It looks great, Cheryl.
That looks like an extremely useful, wear with everything sweater!
It’s beautiful! Another win!
This has to be one of my very favorites. I just love everything about it. What a great choice of color for it.
I love it! Especially the lace design on the sleeves and body…using the grey really made it stand out!
Wow. A sweater for many seasons. Lovely work.
