Yesterday Margene posted about the little hike we took on Monday to Cecret Lake – a small lake in the Alta Ski Resort area. (Some maps refer to it as “Secret Lake”, but all of the trail signs say “Cecret”.)
While it’s rated as an easy hike, the 400′ elevation gain in 3/4 mile at high altitude makes it a little more than the “stroll” it sounds like in the description. There are a few sections that are pretty steep, and I was grateful for a quick rest to catch my breath here and there.
It was a good hike for Margene to get started with – see that smile?
It was a good one for me as well, since it’s been nearly a year since I did any hiking. The perfect weather made for a wonderful day. We’ll be back up there in just over a week for a knitters’ retreat, so I’m looking forward to another hike. By then, we should be seeing lots of fall color.
The color on the mountains seems to have exploded overnight. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us next weekend. That silly hat doesn’t look so bad in your picture…thank goodness! Should we tackle Cecret Lake again on Saturday or Sunday?
Doesn’t she look lovely?
The lake is nice too. ;^)
Fall has taken me by surprise this year!
Looks like you both had a great day. 🙂
What fun. Love the blue sky behind Margene’s happy face!
