Yes, I’m on a roll with the hook.
Our local SnB meets at a coffee shop, and the warming weather will be changing our beverage choices from hot to iced. But with iced drinks comes condensation dripping off the cups and onto the tables, leaving us scrambling for napkins.
I decided to use up some of the cotton yarn in my stash and whip up some coasters to hand out to the SnB crowd.
I found this cute little pattern on Ravelry. They’re very quick to make, and it didn’t take long to memorize the entire pattern. The pattern was clear and easy to follow.
Pattern: Cool Coasters 1
Yarn: The purple yarn is Reynolds Saucy (worsted weight), the green yarn is a similar mercerized cotton yarn, and the tan yarn is Knit Picks Cotlin (DK weight). The pattern calls for sport weight yarn, but the coasters worked up fine in the heavier yarns.
Hook: G
Ravelry: Project page, pattern page
Very nice. They would also make a nice rug or fancy bathmat for the Barbie house.
LOL at Suzanne’s comment – I was trying to figure out what the Barbies were going to use them for, too. And you’ve reminded me that I probably need to knit up another couple java jackets.
Once you start hooking it’s hard to escape the whole lifestyle.
Lovely!
So cute! I need to learn to crochet circles so that I can make stuff like this.
I love having it in my knitting bag so it’s handy to use anywhere. Thanks!!
I really like the coasters. I haven’t been doing much crocheting since I began knitting, but I think I’ll whip a few of these up for tomorrow when the hubby whips out the Guiness. That stuff can be sticky!
These are lovely. I might be able to make this pattern with my limited crochet knowledge…
I’m going to sit here and wait for you to crochet a matching skirt for your Barbie girls.
Very cute!
Pretty and very thoughtful too 🙂
Functional, pretty, and resourceful!
