Quick Trip

We took a quick trip to Las Vegas this past weekend.

There was whiskey (actually, there was more than this, but somehow the other bottles didn’t make it into the photo):

There were latkes:

There was a shrimp cocktail with humungous shrimp the length of your hand:

King Crab legs galore (note the hand inserted in photo for perspective – that’s one HUGE trough of crab legs):

And 3D movies on the new TV:

Yes, there was lots of knitting, too. I estimated that I knit at the rate of 1/2 yard per mile on the road. I was not doing the driving, of course.

Fortunately, we left early enough coming home to cross the Utah/Arizona border just before it was closed for 15 1/2 hours. That would have been a bummer. I’d have totally missed my Stitch ‘n Bitch 8th anniversary party.

I’m jealous that you can just get in the car and drive to Vegas!

FUN! I lived in Vegas for three years (30 years ago) and am dumbstruck by how much it has changed. Now we only drive through – we never stop. Love that you’re sporting short sleeves in January!

The food looks scrumptious. You were lucky. Although 15 hours in a car would have provided PLENTY of knitting time.

  4. Kitten says:

Whoa, never heard about that closure. Hooray for family in Vegas, though!

  5. Chris says:

Looks like a good time was had by all – and very lucky that you missed the border closing! Yikes.

    Woo Hoo!

Why doesn’t the dog get 3D glasses, too? And where are the girls?!

I am so behind. I didn’t hear about your near miss of SnB. Next time you go we’ll have you bootleg whiskey for us!
