I recently started a new project out of our lovely Margene‘s beautiful handspun.
The pattern is called “A Little Bit Bohemian“, and it’s a simple garter stitch scarf that’s totally reversible. With the sideways construction, it’s great for just using whatever amount of yarn you have – start decreasing when you’ve used just under half your yarn.
The project knits up very quickly – I’m already about 30% done. Unfortunately, you can’t see the lace too well in the bright morning sun, but I think it will be very nice when it’s blocked out.
The fiber is merino and nylon, in the “Sunset” colorway, from Fiber Optic Yarns. It made a very soft and squishy yarn.
While I love knitting intricate lace, there is something nice about being able to effortlessly knit a soft, squishy garter stitch shawl(lette). With a nice yarn, they can’t be beat! 🙂
Sideways knit shawls are so fun to do. Quick and easy. Yours is looking good!!
Oh yes, that’s right! Fiber Optic dyes gradient fiber beautifully. I’m glad the yarn is knittable.
How lovely! Isn’t our Margene’s handspun wonderful?
Oh, that’s going to be lovely. 🙂
Margene’s hand spun looks luscious! I love my boho and it looks like you are going to love yours too. Is this you iknitarod knitting?
Really nice – I just love garter stitch…
