No, that’s not a Tootsie Roll.

It’s a scarf.

But it’s a scarf that’s difficult to photograph without it looking like either a Tootsie Roll or a giant legless centipede.

Trust me, it looks much better in person. And it’s cashmere and silk, so how can it be bad?

The pattern is Gathered Scarf, by Scacel, but I’m making some changes to make it a little less gathered. Because the yarn is thinner than the yarn called for, and I have more yardage, I went down in needle size from US 8 to US 6. I’m kind of thinking I should have either gone with US 7 or made the stockinette sections a bit bigger (more cast-on stitches and/or more rows). But I’m nearly halfway done, so it’s not changing now. I’m sure it will be fine.
